A water outage has been scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, within the University Meadows Phase 1 Subdivision, on Silverado Loop from Sunset Orchard Drive to the west end.
The water outage will enable Caliper Construction, Inc. to complete a water line tie-in as part of the University Meadows Phase 2 subdivision.
The outage will have no direct impact on nearby residents. However, once water service is restored, adjacent residential areas may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all faucets in their house for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City at 575/526-0500 for assistance. The TTY phone number is 575/541-2182.
