Due to widespread dangerous icy conditions across most of the airport, Las Cruces International Airport (LRU) will close through at least 7 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2022.
LRU Airport Administrator Andrew Hume issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) to alert aircraft pilots of the potential hazards. Hume cited a high temperature near freezing and little sun exposure throughout the day as reasons to close the airport.
The conditions will be reassessed at 7 a.m. Friday.
