The Las Cruces City Council will meet at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, in Council Chambers at City Hall, 700 N. Main St., for a work session.
Two topics will be presented to and discussed by City Council at its work session. City Council will discuss youth development and diversion, followed by an update by El Paso Electric Co.
City Council will be presented with background information regarding youth development and diversion services provided to Las Cruces and Doña Ana County youth who have been referred for those services by law enforcement agencies or the Juvenile Probation Office, by schools, or by families. Two primary youth development and diversion service programs that are available are the Juvenile Citation Program, and the Juvenile Assessment and Reporting Center.
Additionally, at Monday’s work session, El Paso Electric Co. will provide City Council with an update on the utility’s automated meter system rollout timeline and its transportation electrification plan. El Paso Electric representatives also will discuss the company’s leadership in economic development, will introduce El Paso Electric’s strategic plan, and update the Council and City administrators on the progress and plans to achieve the utility’s renewable portfolio standard.

Immediately following the work session, a brief Agenda Setting Meeting will be conducted in Council Chambers at City Hall to determine the agenda for the Feb. 22, 2022 City Council meeting.
