[ARCHIVED] City's Senior Programs, Youth Services and Las Cruces Schools Bring Valentines Day Wishes

Valentines Day 1

Who wouldn’t want a little love on Valentine's Day?

The City of Las Cruces’ Quality of Life Department is partnering with Parks and Recreation and four classes with the Las Cruces Public Schools to make sure some Las Cruces Senior Programs patrons are remembered on this Valentine’s Day.

Together, they are making or collecting as many as 1,300 Valentine’s Day cards to give to seniors on Valentine’s Day. The cards will be given to seniors participating in the City’s Senior Programs Meals on Wheels service or those involved in activities at the City’s five senior centers: Henry Benavidez, Robert Munson, Frank O’Brien Papen, Eastside, and Sage Café.

Students participating in the Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Youth Services program, and in four Las Cruces Public Schools classes have been making handmade Valentine’s Day cards for seniors. Senior Programs will be supplementing handmade cards from students with purchased cards to ensure all participating seniors receive well wishes on Valentine’s Day.

The cards will be delivered to the seniors on Valentine’s Day.
