Thomas Branigan Memorial Library announces the return and restocking of the Tierra Sagrada pop-up seed library for the Spring!
The Tierra Sagrada Seed Library, named after the mural in the Library’s amphitheater, was created to encourage Las Crucens to learn more about local food systems and regionally-adapted community seed saving projects.
The Spring collection refresh began Monday, February 14, and will feature seeds ideal for the Spring growing season. Seeds will be available while supplies last.
Each library patron can check out seven seed packets per season with their library card. There is no return date, but patrons are encouraged to learn how to save seeds and eventually make a seed donation back to the seed library.
Visit https://www.las-cruces.org/1617/library and click on “Seed Library” for more information and a listing of available Spring seeds.
Community members interested in donating seed are asked to fill out a donation form to provide information on seed provenance and cultural history. Please help the library build a regionally-adapted community seed saving project!
