There were 30 couples who attended the second annual Ties and Tiaras Father-Daughter Dinner Dance on Friday, February 25 at the Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave.
Dads twirled their little girls and dipped them, or later competed in dad dance-offs. Participants who didn’t know each other became friends.
It was a special and wonderful occasion that created life-long memories for those who attended.
The purpose of this special event was to provide an opportunity to create a long-lasting memory for daughters 5 to 12-years old with their fathers or the gentleman role model in their lives. The relationship between a father and daughter is very special, and the City’s Recreation Programs wanted to highlight and cultivate that relationship.
The special night included dinner catered by a local Italian restaurant, cake and refreshments, a disc jockey providing musical entertainment, gift bags to take home, tiaras for the girls, and a photo booth.
Digital photo requests will be emailed to everyone who participated in the event, and a satisfaction survey will be included.
