Las Cruces Utilities will conduct a flow test on a fire hydrant in the south parking lot of Walmart Supercenter, 1550 S. Valley Drive, for two hours beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022.
Affected areas will include Valley Drive north of Boutz Road and south of Avenida de Mesilla.
Businesses and residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting until the water becomes clear again before washing laundry.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all cold-water faucets in their house for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call Las Cruces Utilities at 575/526-0500 for assistance.
