Join Thomas Branigan Memorial Library and Bluebird Running Company as they support the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) in a 5-kilometer run/walk at La Lloroña Park, beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday, May 8, 2022.
The event is open to everyone at any level!
The MMIW Virtual 5k event is a race at your own pace and place. You can run, walk, bike, hike, or participate through any movement anywhere – including the comfort of your own home.
The mission is to show support and solidarity with the indigenous women, girls, and two-spirits, and with the grieving families and individuals working on the frontlines to end this epidemic of violence against indigenous people.
The MMIW Virtual 5k is an annual event sponsored by Native Women Running to raise awareness and benefit MMIW USA and the Native Women’s Association of Canada. Runners, walkers, and supporters are encouraged to visit Native Women Running at https://www.nativewomenrunning.com/events for information.
