[ARCHIVED] "Transportation Day" at the Las Cruces Railroad Museum

Railroad Train

The Las Cruces Railroad Museum, 351 N. Mesilla St., presents “Transportation Day” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Activities, demonstrations, and close encounters with race cars, motorsports, a fire truck, police units, transit buses, and more all will be part of the event! Admission to the museum and the event are free. Activities will be for people of all ages.

Race Car Tire Changing Demos – Meet Drew Cassidy, the Caliche’s Girl race car driver, as she and her team flip racing tires. Pose with her race car and take pictures with a fun meet-and-greet!

Miniature Barn Raising – Help build a western town that will go on exhibit in the museum's model railroad room! Create anything from a sheriff's office to a saloon and watch the tiny town grow as the community makes the model town come alive.

Painting Model Train Cars – Customize a real model train car with stickers, painting, and other supplies to help you design a train car of your own and take home.

The Las Cruces Railroad Museum is accessible via RoadRUNNER Transit Routes 4 and 7, Stop 1. Visit the Museum System website at: https://www.las-cruces.org/museums or follow the Las Cruces Museums on Facebook and Instagram @LCMuseums.
