Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., offers a variety of free computer literacy classes designed to help adults develop confidence and skills, helping them to be more comfortable in today's digital world.
Registration is optional and walk-ins are welcome, but space is limited. Registration for any of the classes can be found on the library’s event calendar at: https://las-cruces.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/.
Classes are in the Computer Training Classroom and attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops if space permits.
Email Basics – 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Learn how to obtain a free email account. Students will then learn the basics of sending, receiving, and replying to a message, as well as how to send and open attachments and manage their new email account.
Introduction to Social Media – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022. Do you want to learn what social media is and how to use it to communicate with others? You will learn what social media platforms there are and tips on how to stay safe while using them.
Microsoft Word Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022. A class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Word. Students will learn how to create and format basic spreadsheets. Basic computer skills are required.
Microsoft Excel Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022. A class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Excel. Students will learn how to create and format basic spreadsheets. Basic computer skills are required
