[ARCHIVED] Call for Volunteers for "Team Up to Clean Up" City Council District 6 Event

Trash Clean Up

Volunteers are needed! Get rid of weeds, trash, junk, graffiti and other debris in your neighborhood the Team Up to Clean Up way!

The Parks & Recreation Department Keep Las Cruces Beautiful (KLCB) will conduct its first Team Up to Clean Up event from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 21, 2022, in City Council District 6, represented by Councilor Yvonne Flores.

Roll-off containers, provided by Las Cruces Utilities Solid Waste, will be available for District 6 residents to utilize during event hours only, at the former Tee Time Golf Driving Range, 2834 N. Telshor Boulevard, at the intersection of Del Rey and Telshor boulevards; the East Mesa Bataan Memorial Pool parking lot, 6141 Reynolds Drive; and near the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, 150 N. Sonoma Ranch Boulevard, at the intersection of Lohman Avenue and Sonoma Ranch Boulevard.

Keep Las Cruces Beautiful and Las Cruces Police Department Codes Enforcement will also have supply stations at all locations. They will provide equipment, supplies, specific clean up locations, and any additional information. Recruit neighbors and friends to join in efforts to maintain property, beginning where you live.

Anyone living in City Council District 6 can contribute to the city’s beautification by joining KLCB to help clean up their neighborhood!

More than six tons of trash was collected during the 2021 Team Up to Clean Up events, and just recently, more than five tons was collected during the annual “Great American Clean Up” community event on April 9. The 2022 Team Up to Clean Up event schedule also is attached.
