Las Cruces Utilities will restart the Pre-1965 Landfill Waste Excavation Cleanup Project, south of Lohman Avenue and east of Paseo de Oñate, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
This project is to remove the waste from Cell No.1. Cells No. 2 and 3 have already been excavated and removed to the Corralito’s Landfill.
Waste from Cell No. 1 is anticipated to be the same as Cells Nos. 2 and 3, which was mainly construction debris. With work beginning May 10, this project is anticipated to be completed within six months.
The project is in City Council District 6.
