Residences and businesses in the east Lohman area, may experience discolored water between 9 p.m. Thursday May 19, 2022, and 4 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022.
The City of Las Cruces, Water Section will be performing a fire flow test in the east Lohman area. This fire flow test is being done is in response to new and existing businesses in east Lohman area for fire protection.
The affected areas will include:
- Divot Street to Missouri Avenue.
- Solano Drive to Telshor Avenue.
Residences and businesses may notice discolored water due to iron and manganese. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush outside or cold-water faucets in the house or business for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City of Las Cruces at 575/526-0500 for assistance.
