[ARCHIVED] U.S. Highway 70 Overnight Closures for Powerline Placement

Note: As a partner with the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), the City of Las Cruces shares this information with residents.
 
Nighttime closures of U.S. Highway 70, also known as north Main Street, will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022, to Friday, May 27, 2022, between Rinconada and Sonoma Ranch Boulevards.
 
Depending on direction of travel, all eastbound and westbound traffic will detour onto either Bataan Memorial East or Bataan Memorial West with one lane of travel open in each direction. Speed limits will be reduced.
 
El Paso Electric Company will be placing overhead power lines.  This closure is in place for the safety of the traveling public and El Paso Electric work crews.
