Excellence in Action

Ginger Barela, Senior, Office Manager in the Quality of Life Department, is being acknowledged with an Excellence in Action award for her willingness to share her technical expertise, training tools, and time with other department teams. Debbie Childress specifically addressed Ginger’s high level of experience and positive engagement in her nomination of Ginger and indicated that her sharing knowledge has impacted the Learning and Development program where she is currently planning and partnering with this department for Office 365 training, and mentoring the Training and Development Specialist, the newest addition to the Learning and Development team. Ginger has also recently conducted Office 365 training to the Las Cruces Fire Department, as she has done with several other departments. She shares effective communication, structure, guidance, and experience. She provides outstanding internal customer service, efficiency, dependability, and a spirit of teamwork. Ginger has represented the City of Las Cruces with a high level of leadership influence and quality in the services she provides to her colleagues across the City organization. Ginger has served the city in many capacities including with Fleet and most recently in the Finance Department.  We are proud to share this excellent talent throughout the City, and she is an asset to Quality of Life Department where she has been serving for more than four months.
