Las Cruces firefighters responded to a structure fire at the 2200 block of N. Alameda after 10:30 a.m. Monday. Upon arrival, crews encountered a heavily involved mobile home that was extending an adjacent structure and several propane tanks that began venting.
The fires were limited to the two involved structures with minor damage to the exteriors of two adjacent structures from the heat. The fire caused a power outage which affected several neighbors. No injuries were reported. Four occupants were displaced and offered assistance from the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Damage estimates are still being considered. The incident caused a road closure at Alameda Boulevard, Three Crosses Avenue and Dona Ana Road.
