Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., is pleased to announce the availability of our Fall collection of seeds at the Tierra Sagrada pop-up seed library.
The Tierra Sagrada Seed Library was created to encourage Las Crucens to learn more about local food systems and regionally-adapted community seed saving projects. The Fall collection refresh goes live on Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, and will feature seeds ideal for the Fall growing season. Seeds will be available while supplies last.
Each library patron is allowed to check out 10 packets of seed per season on their library card. There is no return date, but patrons are encouraged to learn how to save seeds and eventually make a seed donation back to the seed library.
Visit https://library.las-cruces.org and click on the “Tierra Sagrada Seed Library” link for more information and a listing of available Fall seeds.
Community members who are interested in donating seed are asked to fill out a donation form to provide information on seed provenance and cultural history. Help us build a regionally-adapted community seed saving project!
