[ARCHIVED] Branigan Library Offers Free Computer Literacy Classes in August

Computer Literacy Classes

Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., offers a variety of free computer literacy classes designed to help adults develop confidence in their computer skills and grow more comfortable in today's digital world.

Each session is an independent class. Registration is optional, with walk-ins welcome, however, space is limited.

Registration for any of the classes can be found on Branigan Library’s event calendar at: https://las-cruces.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops if space permits.
 
Basic Computer Skills – 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022. Are you uncomfortable using a computer? Do you want to understand how to use it without the fear of doing something to break it? This class will discuss what computers are and some ways to properly use them in your daily lives. 
     
Internet Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022. Do you know what the Internet is? In this class we will discuss better ways to navigate the Internet and some tips on how to stay safe online.

Utilizing the Clout – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22 2022. Have you been working on a computer or mobile device and heard the term "Cloud" but did not know what it was? In this class we will discuss what the Cloud is and how to use it to safely store information electronically. Students may bring their own laptop or mobile device.

File Management – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022. This class is a basic class where students will learn how to manage files by uploading files from removable drives and moving files into folders.
