Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., offers free computer literacy classes in September. Each session is an independent class. Registration is not required, however, only the first nine attendees will be guaranteed a computer. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops if space permits.
Classes in September will include:
Internet for Beginners – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5.
This is a class for those who want to learn how to go online and move around the internet with ease. Students will learn how to access websites, how to navigate, web addresses, basic searching, and web safety.
Introduction to Social Media – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10.
This will be a class for those who want to learn what social media is and how to use it to communicate with others. Students will learn what social media platforms there are and tips about how to stay safe while using them.
Microsoft Word Basics – 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 19.
This is a class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Word. Students will learn how to create and format basic documents. Basic computer skills are required.
Microsoft Excel Basics – 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25.
This will be a class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Excel. Students will learn how to create and format basic spreadsheets. Basic computer skills are required.
