[ARCHIVED] Fire Flow Test at 1600 N. Solano Drive

Red fire-hydrant

Las Cruces Utilities will conduct a fire flow test on a fire hydrant in the area of north Solano Drive and Ash Avenue for two hours beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022.

 The affected areas will include:

  • North Solano Drive, from Oasis Avenue to Poplar Avenue.
  • Ash Avenue, from Wade to north Solano Drive.
  • Villamora Avenue, from north Solano Drive to north Tornillo Street.

Businesses and residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, all cold-water faucets in affected residences and business should be flushed for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call Las Cruces Utilities at 575/526-0500 for assistance.

For information, call Paul D. Gamboa at 575/528-3406. The TTY number is 575/541-2182.
