[ARCHIVED] Fall 2022 Youth Sportsmanship Basketball Individual Participant Registration

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department will offer the following individual registrations for the upcoming Fall Youth Sportsmanship Basketball League.

There will be four age divisions offered to all genders between the ages of 4 and 11, and divisions for middle school boys and girls (12-14U). Proof of age, or a *Parks & Recreation Activity ID Card is required to register.

Registration fee is $45 per individual, which includes a jersey, or $35 for returning players, which does not include a jersey. League play will begin the week of Oct. 1, 2022.

Space is limited in all divisions, and registration is first come, first served.

Individual Online Registration:

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2022

A current *Parks & Recreation Activity ID card is required on file by Thursday, August 25 to register online.

Individual (In-Person) Registration:

9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022

Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave.

A current *P&R Activity ID card or birth certificate is required at time of registration.

Age Divisions are as follows:

6U Division – Participants born January 2016 through August 2018.

8U Division – Participants born January 2014 through December 2015.

10U Division – Participants born January 2012 through December 2013.

11U Division – Participants born October 2010 through December 2011.

12-14U Middle School – Participants born January 2008 through September 2010.

  • Formation of teams is under the discretion of Meerscheidt staff.
  • Participants will be required to play in their respective age division and will not be allowed to “play up” a division.
  • Requesting placement onto specific teams will not be allowed. Siblings in the same household may be placed on the same team ONLY if they qualify for the same age division and sibling notification is recorded by Meerscheidt staff during registration.
  • Switching teams will not be allowed once teams have been formed and assigned to coaches.

*Parks & Recreation Activity ID Card: To obtain a card, a parent or guardian and child, must appear in person at Meerscheidt Recreation Center to fill out the permission form, provide proof of age (a birth certificate), and have the child’s photo taken. Activity ID Cards can be obtained between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Cards will not be issued on registration dates.
