[ARCHIVED] Kudos to Ballfield Maintenance Crew, Parks and Recreation Department

Ballfield Maintenance Crew

TO: Ballfield Maintenance Crew, Parks and Recreation Department

FROM: John Hefley, Director of USSSA Girls Youth Fast Pitch

Director Delgado;

I normally post in Facebook to recognize the maintenance crew for their efforts but I believe this letter serves a better perspective on how I truly appreciate their hard work and endurance to make a negative situation into a positive one.

This past Saturday at approximately 3PM my girls youth tournament was dealt with severe heavy rain and lightning whereas the fields at MAAG Complex where flooded causing the tournament to be cancelled for the evening.

Fortunately.  the rain stopped and with the guidance of Supervisor Trevino, his crew worked diligently most of the night to prepare an alternative venue so we could continue to move forward with the tournament.

As a result,  we were able to continue play at PAZ Complex Sunday from 8am to 4pm without any issues.  The fields were immaculate and held strong all day without delay.

I commend “The Crew” for taking those steps to allow the teams to play.  Many of the coaches and parents relayed the same and everyone seemed extremely happy the tournament wasn’t totally cancelled.

Sincerely,

John Hefley
