Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima is contributing to a cause that spans three continents in just under three months to raise awareness and money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Mayor Miyagishima will take part in a 3-minute live-streamed interview at 10 a.m. at Las Cruces City Hall (700 N. Main Street) this morning, conducted by Bob Hood, the volunteer executive Director and principle rider of 3 Country Ride, Inc. (3CR). The objective of the interview is to inform viewers about Las Cruces, as well as raise awareness of the need for breast cancer research.
Hood and his team began their 4,150 mile journey last Wednesday on March 20, when they left Tijuana, Mexico. Their purpose will take them to 71 different stops in 83 days until they reach Saint Stephen, Canada. The ride will be complete on June 10. Hood noted he has personally been affected by friends and family members being diagnosed with this disease, and he encourages riders to join them along the route, even if for small segments on their journey.
