[ARCHIVED] National Drive Electric Week

Green Bike Lane

El Paso Electric Co. and the City of Las Cruces are excited to invite you to the National Drive Electric Week event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Las Cruces Farmers & Crafts Market.

The event will showcase a variety of electric vehicles, discuss available incentives, types of charging, EPE’s and CLC’s current initiatives and programs. We also will have local companies available at the event that are certified to install EV charging equipment.

EPE’s electric vehicles, such as the Chevy Bolt, will be showcased at this event and many more vehicles that are driven by our customers.

Join us beforehand for a guided bike ride led by our Active Transportation Coordinator Robert Messenger and learn about our newly installed green, cool bike lanes! Enjoy some light snacks after our bike ride as you browse the array of EPE’s electric vehicles.

The less-than-a-mile bike ride will travel down east Hadley Avenue and end in the parking lot at Maag Park, with an option to join us for an extended ride to Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N Main St. Participants can enjoy light snacks!

E bikes are highly encouraged and can also be showcased at the EV event.

You’re also invited to showcase your EV – all you have to do is select the “I'm interested to show my EV to others at the event” option when you RSVP here: https://driveelectricweek.org/.

  • Location: Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St., Las Cruces, NM, 88001.
  • The bike ride begins at 9 a.m. Meet at the West side of the Maag Park parking lot at 8:45 a.m. Bike helmets are required, with a bike in good working condition. Participants will need to sign a waiver form upon arrival.

If you have any questions, please email jehernandez@las-cruces.org, or call 575/541-2173 for bike ride questions and map route inquiries. For all other questions, please send an email to ev@epelectric.com.
