LCPD also partners with other agencies such as the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office, New Mexico State Police and New Mexico State University Police on special operations and other agency-assisted calls.

4. How many officers does the Las Cruces Police Department employ?: The Las Cruces Police Department is allotted 202 sworn officers. LCPD also employs Animal Control and Codes Enforcement officers along with approximately 100 civilian personnel.

5. How can I become a Las Cruces Police Officer?: The Las Cruces Police Department conducts a training academy for new officers annually. Job announcements are made through the City of Las Cruces' Human Resources Department and through LCPD's Facebook page. LCPD also accepts applicants for lateral transfers from other agencies.
