  2. A: The Volunteer will:
    1. Wear clean and neat clothing deemed appropriate by the site dress code and needs of the position as outlined in the job description.
    2. Follow all rules and accept supervision with a willingness to learn; ask about things that are not understood.
    3. Adhere to the drug-free workplace policy. Volunteers must not use or be under the influence of controlled, illegal, or alcoholic substances while volunteering.
    4. Use office equipment (computers, phones, etc.) and supplies for agency business only, unless given specific permission.
    5. Please do not accept gifts, tips, etc. from members of the public you are serving.
    6. Read and follow the contents of the Volunteer Handbook.
    7. Be punctual and conscientious in fulfilling their duties and accurately reflect the time served either by recording hours online or to supervisor.
    8. Adhere to their schedule and promptly report any absences or tardiness to supervisor.
    9. Take any problems, concerns, or suggestions to the Network Volunteer Coordinator and/or the Volunteer Site Supervisor.
    10. Notify the Volunteer Coordinator if they are no longer able to volunteer or if their volunteer work will be interrupted for an extended period of time.
    11. Act as a member of the team to which they are assigned at all times.
    12. Be aware that volunteering with the City is a privilege.
    13. Perform their duties of any volunteer position in which I elect to serve to the best of their ability, conducting themself with honesty, dignity, and courtesy.
    14. The Volunteer will not discriminate against Network volunteers, clients or staff on the basis of race; color; national origin, including limited English proficiency; gender; sexual orientation; age; political affiliation; religion; or on the basis of disability, if the volunteer is a qualified individual with a disability.
  3. B: Other Provisions
    1. Separation from Volunteer Service:  The Volunteer Network may remove a volunteer at any time and consider them Inactive, Retired or Ineligible for Service. Inactive or Retired volunteers may resume volunteer activities with permission from the Volunteer Network but may be required to resubmit an application and paperwork and/or attend an orientation session. Volunteers listed as Ineligible for Service will not be permitted to return to the Volunteer Network under any condition. The Volunteer Site may request the removal of a Network volunteer at any time.  The volunteer may withdraw from service at the Volunteer Site or from the Network at any time. Discussion of individual separations will occur among The Network staff, Volunteer Site staff, and the volunteer to clarify the reasons, resolve conflicts, or take remedial action, including placement with another Volunteer Site.
    2. Religious Activities:  Volunteers will not engage in unapproved soliciting or any partisan political activity during their scheduled volunteer hours.
    3. Displacement of Employees:  The Volunteer Site will not assign Network volunteers to any assignment which would displace employed workers or impair existing contracts for services.
    4. Accessibility and Reasonable Accommodation: The Volunteer Site will maintain the programs and activities to which The Network volunteers are assigned accessible to persons with disabilities (including mobility, hearing, vision, mental, and cognitive impairments or addictions and diseases) and/or limited English language proficiency and provide reasonable accommodation to allow persons with disabilities to participate in programs and activities
    5. Prohibition of Discrimination: The Volunteer Site will not discriminate against Network volunteers or in the operation of its program on the basis of race; religion; gender; sexual orientation; gender identity; color; ancestry; national origin, including limited English proficiency; serious medical condition; age; political affiliation; or on the basis of disability, if the volunteer is a qualified individual with a disability.
  4. Volunteer Acceptance

    By signing this Agreement, I confirm that I have read and agree to follow the conditions of this agreement and that I also agree to fulfill the duties of any volunteer position in which I elect to serve.  I also agree to the following:

    • As a condition of volunteer placement, I agree not to divulge to unauthorized persons any confidential information obtained from observation, conversation, correspondence, personal records, or any other source.  This includes information about both the staff and people served by City of Las Cruces affiliated programs.  I will not publish, orally disclose or otherwise make public any confidential information, except as I am legally required.
    • I understand that any violation of this agreement, an inability to work with others, dishonesty in the execution of job duties or conduct which is detrimental or prejudicial to the best interests of the City government may result in immediate removal as a volunteer. Instances of fraud and harassment will result in immediate removal.
  5. Electronic Signature Agreement
    By checking the "I agree" box below, you agree and acknowledge that 1) your Agreement will not be signed in the sense of a traditional paper document, 2) by signing in this alternate manner, you authorize your electronic signature to be valid and binding upon you to the same force and effect as a handwritten signature, and 3) you may still be required to provide a traditional signature at a later date.
